Healing from the Inside Out: My 3 Pillars for Restoring the Body
By Dr. Ashley Villar DC
In my years of clinical practice, I’ve come to understand that true healing isn’t just about treating symptoms—it’s about restoring the body’s innate intelligence, balancing the internal systems, and removing the burdens that block the path to wellness. Healing, in its truest form, is both a science and an art. It’s personalized, layered, and deeply intuitive.
My approach is rooted in three foundational pillars that guide every individualized plan I create for patients. These pillars work synergistically to bring the body into a state of sustained wellness, energy, and ease.
1. Hormonal Balance: Creating the Foundation for Wellbeing
Hormones are the body’s messengers—delivering instructions to every system, from mood to metabolism, sleep to immunity. When these messengers are out of balance, the entire body feels the ripple effect.
In my work, I prioritize supporting the endocrine system—thyroid, adrenals, ovaries/testes, pancreas, and more—while also nurturing neurohormonal health through neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and GABA. Just as importantly, I address immune cellular signaling through cytokines, which play a pivotal role in chronic inflammation and immune regulation. The result of this hormone-focused support? A sense of inner calm, resilience, improved sleep, emotional stability, and enhanced energy. This is not a quick fix—it's a restoration of harmony.
2. Immune Sequential Support: Addressing the Root Burdens
Many patients come to me with long-standing fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, and a host of seemingly unrelated symptoms. Often, these are signs of a deeper issue—chronic immune burden from multiple infections. I refer to this as mixed infection syndrome—a complex web of viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasites, and stealth pathogens that have quietly depleted the body over time. These hidden infections place stress on the bone marrow, impair detox pathways, and hijack the immune system’s ability to function normally.
My process involves a gentle, phased approach to immune support, clearing infections sequentially and in the right order. This minimizes die-off reactions while allowing the body to rebuild strength. I often pair this work with organ support and detox strategies to help the system eliminate what no longer serves it.
3. Body Image Optimization: Reclaiming Health Through Composition
“Body image” is often reduced to how we look. But in my practice, I redefine it as how we feel in our bodies—and how our body composition impacts our vitality.
Using a combination of dietary therapy, metabolic testing, and lifestyle rebalancing, I guide patients in optimizing their body fat to muscle mass ratio. This isn’t about extremes or deprivation—it’s about building strength, restoring proper metabolic function, and developing a positive, empowered relationship with food and movement.
True health is never just about numbers on a scale. It's about building a body that is functional, resilient, and aligned with your purpose.

Final Thoughts
When we support the body across these three pillars—hormonal balance, immune clarity, and physical composition—we ignite a healing response that is deep, lasting, and transformational. This is how I work with patients: not to suppress symptoms, but to reveal the body’s capacity for self-healing.
You are not broken. You are burdened. And together, we can begin the journey of releasing those burdens and returning you to wholeness.
With deep care
